Preparing for installation
Before you start installing any components, complete the following tasks:
- Review the following documents to determine if the configuration that you are about to create is fully supported. They are available from your BlueCielo ECM Solutions Solutions Partner or the BlueCielo ECM Solutions extranet:
- BlueCielo Product Life Cycle Support Policy
- Supported Software for this version of TeamWork
- If you are installing the server components, create a verified back up of all existing vaults.
- Network connections between all involved computers must be working and active.
- DCOM communications must be possible between all involved computers. For information on enabling DCOM in general or enabling DCOM between Windows XP client computers and servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher, see Enabling DCOM.
- If you are installing a TeamWork Web Access client, know the computer name of the server on which IIS is installed. During the client installation process, you will be prompted to type the TeamWork web server location:
http://<ServerName>/TeamWork/Start
- If you are installing only TeamWork client software, know the name of the TeamWork application server, as you will be prompted for it during installation.
- If you are installing Web Access on a separate IIS server, you must have already installed the AutoManager EDM Server service on another computer and you must know its name. During Web Access installation, you will be prompted for this name.
- Any web server that is to be used for Web Access must be running before Web Access installation. If you do not want to enable Web Access during the initial setup of TeamWork, you can install it later.
- You must have Administrator rights on the computer before you begin installation.
- All client computers should be time-synchronized with the TeamWork application server.
- Always disable any real-time virus-scanning software before attempting to install TeamWork. Some virus scanners have been found to interrupt the creation of TeamWork registry items. You can re-enable them after installing TeamWork, although we do not recommend it. For more information on the effects of antivirus software on TeamWork, see Optimizing antivirus applications.
- The accounts under which TeamWork services will run may need additional permissions as described in Understanding Active Directory security problems.
